Terms of Service

The Roll is a curated lifestyle membership community operated by The Roll LLC. Its services may include editorial information, member conversations, needs and recommendations, savings resources, events and experiences, partner opportunities, advisory activities, credentials, and related communications. Features may be delivered through email, forms, documents, third-party platforms, virtual sessions, in-person experiences, or other methods selected by The Roll.

A member must be at least 21 years old and legally able to enter into a binding agreement. The Roll may request accurate information reasonably necessary to evaluate an application, verify identity or eligibility, prevent misuse, administer membership, or comply with law.

Submitting an application begins the recognition process but does not guarantee acceptance or membership. The Roll may accept or decline an application in its reasonable discretion, subject to applicable law. An applicant and member must provide truthful, current, and complete information and promptly correct a material change. A membership is personal, may not be sold or transferred, and may not be used by another person.

Recognized Member. Recognized Membership is free. It provides the benefits identified for that membership at the time they are offered. It does not create a guaranteed minimum term and may be ended by the member or The Roll as provided in these Terms.

Charter Signature Member. Charter Signature Membership costs $199 for the initial two-year membership term. The initial term begins when payment is successfully completed and the membership is activated, unless the member is told a different activation date in writing.

Manual annual renewal. After the initial two-year Charter term, an eligible Charter Signature Member may renew for successive one-year terms at $199 per year. Renewal is manual. The Roll will not automatically charge the member. A new term begins only after the member affirmatively accepts the renewal offer and successfully completes payment by the stated deadline.

Charter recognition. Charter recognition identifies participation in The Roll's Charter cohort. An inactive Charter member does not receive active paid-member benefits. The Roll may revoke a credential or recognition obtained through fraud, material misrepresentation, or serious misconduct, consistent with the Code of Conduct.

Applicable taxes, separately priced events, optional purchases, travel, lodging, third-party charges, or other amounts clearly disclosed before purchase are not included in the membership price unless stated otherwise.

Paid membership must be paid through the payment method and link provided by The Roll. The member authorizes the payment processor to complete the selected one-time charge. The Roll does not authorize recurring Charter renewal charges under these Terms.

The member is responsible for accurate billing information and any lawful taxes or disclosed charges. Membership activation or delivery may be delayed until payment is confirmed. If a payment is reversed, disputed, charged back, or not completed, The Roll may pause or end paid benefits while the matter is resolved. This does not prevent a member from raising a legitimate billing error.

Cancellation by a member. A paid member may cancel future renewal at any time before making the next renewal payment. Because renewal is manual, no future renewal charge will occur unless the member affirmatively pays. Cancellation does not produce a partial refund after activation; access ordinarily continues through the paid term. Any right that cannot lawfully be waived remains available.

Ending a paid membership for a business reason. If The Roll ends a paid membership before the end of the paid term for a business or operational reason unrelated to the member's misconduct, The Roll will provide a prorated refund for the unused portion of the paid term, unless it can continue the paid benefits through that term and the member agrees to that arrangement.

Ending membership for misconduct. The Roll may suspend or terminate membership or participation under the Code of Conduct. A paid member terminated for a serious Code violation is not entitled to a refund, to the extent permitted by law.

Recognized Membership. A Recognized Member may end the free membership by contacting The Roll. The Roll may also end or suspend a free membership as reasonably necessary for operations, inactivity, eligibility, safety, misuse, or enforcement of these Terms or the Code of Conduct.

Effect of ending membership. When membership ends, the person's right to use member-only services and current credentials ends. Provisions that by their nature should continue remain effective, including provisions concerning accrued payments, intellectual property, submitted content already used with permission, disclaimers, liability, disputes, and enforcement.

Benefits and features may depend on membership type, availability, location, capacity, timing, partner participation, technology, and member eligibility. Except for the stated paid term and price, The Roll does not promise that every feature, event, offer, savings opportunity, contributor role, or partner will always be available.

The Roll may improve, replace, reschedule, limit, or discontinue a feature when reasonably necessary. During a paid term, The Roll will not intentionally remove substantially all material paid-membership value without providing a reasonable substitute, continued access where practical, or an appropriate prorated refund. Individual events, limited-capacity opportunities, and third-party offers may have separate eligibility rules, deadlines, costs, and terms.

The member agrees that The Roll may provide agreements, disclosures, receipts, application and membership notices, credentials, event information, policy updates, and other records electronically, including by email or through a form or service used for the transaction. The member is responsible for maintaining a working email address and reviewing communications reasonably related to the membership.

Promotional email preferences may be changed using an available unsubscribe method or by contacting The Roll. The Roll may still send nonpromotional communications reasonably necessary for an application, transaction, event, active membership, safety matter, or legal notice. Mobile-number use is governed by the Privacy Statement.

A member retains ownership of original content the member submits. The member represents that the member has the rights and permissions needed to submit it and that its use for the stated purpose will not violate law, another person's rights, or these Terms.

When content is submitted for a community feature, the member grants The Roll LLC a nonexclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, format, adapt for accessibility or layout, display, and distribute that content only as reasonably necessary to operate and promote the feature to its stated audience. This license ends when the content is removed from active use, except for reasonable backup, recordkeeping, legal, or previously authorized archival uses.

The Roll will seek separate permission before using an identifiable member's story, recommendation, image, voice, or submission in The Roll Brief or promotional materials, unless the submission process clearly stated that intended publication and audience. The Roll may remove or decline content that violates these Terms, the Code of Conduct, another person's rights, or the intended purpose of a feature.

The Roll LLC and its licensors retain all rights in The Roll name, marks, credentials, designs, selection and arrangement of content, guides, scorecards, editorial materials, event formats, and other original materials, except for member content described above.

While membership is active, The Roll grants the member a limited, personal, nonexclusive, nontransferable, revocable license to use materials provided with that membership for the member's own noncommercial purposes. The member may not reproduce, distribute, publish, sell, sublicense, remove ownership notices from, create a competing product from, or commercially exploit those materials without written permission. Ordinary personal use, including printing a personal copy or completing a personal worksheet, is permitted.

The Roll may curate or share recommendations, member experiences, partner offers, links, businesses, products, services, venues, and opportunities. Unless expressly stated in writing, inclusion does not create a guarantee, warranty, agency relationship, joint venture, or endorsement by The Roll.

Availability, quality, pricing, terms, and results may change and are controlled by the applicable third party.

Members are responsible for their own evaluation and decisions. A transaction between a member and another member or third party is between those parties. The Roll is not a party to that transaction and is not responsible for a third party's acts, omissions, products, services, payments, policies, or privacy practices, except to the extent responsibility cannot be excluded by law.

Events and experiences may involve travel, transportation, food, physical activity, venues, hosts, vendors, or other risks and may require separate registration, payment, rules, releases, or informed consent. A member must review and follow those event-specific requirements. The Roll may change capacity, location, schedule, program, host, or participation conditions when reasonably necessary and will communicate a material change through a reasonable method.

A participant is responsible for deciding whether an activity is appropriate for the participant and for communicating relevant accessibility or accommodation needs. In an emergency, participants should contact emergency services or venue personnel before or in addition to contacting The Roll. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that applicable law does not allow to be excluded.

The Roll's guides, scorecards, conversations, recommendations, and other materials provide general educational and lifestyle information. They do not constitute personalized financial, investment, legal, tax, medical, mental-health, insurance, credit-repair, or other professional advice. Members should consult an appropriately qualified professional when individual advice is needed.

Savings examples, targets, opportunities, and member experiences are illustrative. The Roll does not guarantee that a member will save a particular amount, receive a particular offer, improve a score or financial position, or achieve any other result. Results depend on individual circumstances, decisions, eligibility, providers, timing, and market conditions.

The Roll's collection, use, disclosure, retention, and protection of personal information are described in The Roll Privacy Statement. By using the services, a person acknowledges that Statement. The Code of Conduct also requires members to protect information learned through the community.

The Roll may take reasonable interim or final action when it believes a person may have violated these Terms, the Code of Conduct, event rules, another person's rights, or applicable law. Actions may include guidance, warning, content removal, participation conditions, restriction, suspension, event removal, denial of renewal, or termination. The Roll may act immediately when safety, privacy, fraud prevention, evidence preservation, or community integrity requires prompt action.

Review and reconsideration procedures are described in the Code of Conduct. The Roll may cooperate with venues, service providers, emergency responders, or public authorities when reasonably appropriate or legally required.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the services and materials are provided on an "as available" basis. The Roll does not warrant that every service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, available at a particular time or place, or suitable for every person. The Roll does not warrant the accuracy or reliability of member statements or independent third-party information.

Nothing in these Terms limits an express written promise made by The Roll or a consumer right or warranty that cannot lawfully be waived.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Roll LLC and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, volunteers, and authorized representatives will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, opportunities, savings, data, goodwill, or business, arising from or related to the services, even if advised that such damages were possible.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the total liability of The Roll parties for all claims arising from or related to a paid membership will not exceed the amount the member paid to The Roll during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. For a claim arising only from free services, total liability will not exceed $100. These limits do not apply to fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, personal injury caused by negligence where the limit is prohibited, or another liability that applicable law does not permit The Roll to limit.

To the extent permitted by law, a member is responsible for losses, liabilities, damages, judgments, and reasonable costs incurred by The Roll LLC because of the member's unlawful conduct, fraud, willful misconduct, material violation of another person's rights, or material breach of these Terms.

This provision does not require a consumer to pay for losses caused by The Roll's own negligence, unlawful conduct, or breach, and it does not waive a nonwaivable right.

Before filing a lawsuit, a party must send a written notice describing the dispute, the supporting facts, and the requested resolution. Notices to The Roll must be sent to [email protected] and the mailing address below. The parties will make a good-faith effort to resolve the dispute for 30 days after receipt. This requirement does not prevent either party from seeking urgent temporary relief, meeting a legal filing deadline, reporting a matter to a government agency, or using an available small-claims process.

Michigan law governs these Terms without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except when federal law or another jurisdiction's nonwaivable consumer law applies. An unresolved claim may be brought in a Michigan state court located in or serving Van Buren County, Michigan, or in the federal court with jurisdiction over that area. Each party consents to the personal jurisdiction and venue of those courts, subject to any nonwaivable right to bring a claim elsewhere. These Terms do not require arbitration and do not waive a right to a jury trial.

The Roll may update these Terms when services, practices, providers, or legal requirements change.

The effective date will be revised, and reasonable advance notice of a material change will be provided by email or the method then used for member notices. A material change to payment obligations or dispute rights will not apply retroactively unless the affected person expressly agrees or law requires it. Continued use after other updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law.

Entire agreement. These Terms, the Code of Conduct, the Privacy Statement, and any applicable event-specific or purchase-specific written terms form the agreement concerning the covered services. An event-specific term controls only for that event when it directly conflicts with these Terms.

No waiver. A failure or delay in enforcing a provision is not a waiver of the right to enforce it later.

Severability. If a provision is held unenforceable, it will be limited or removed only to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue.

Assignment. A member may not assign or transfer the agreement or membership without The Roll's written permission. The Roll may assign the agreement as part of a merger, reorganization, sale, or transfer of its business, provided the successor remains responsible for the applicable obligations.

No third-party beneficiaries. These Terms do not create enforcement rights for a person who is not a party, except that the protected parties identified in Sections 17 and 18 may rely on those sections.

Headings. Headings are provided for readability and do not change the meaning of a provision.
